Our client is a big American multinational company with an European Service Center in Barcelona.

The job holder is a member of the European Technical Accounting Department and the job holder is in cooperation with the Technical Accounting Team Leader and the Manager responsible for all key compliance deadlines of companie´s subsidiaries.

The responsibility of the job holder includes the timely and accurate data preparation on Local GAAP basis for external reporting to Tax Authorities and Auditors. Additionally, the job holder needs to work with the Technical Accounting Team leader on the timely monthly reporting for US GAAP in accordance with the Company’s Month-end Closing schedule.

The job holder needs to support the preparation of the Local GAAP Statutory Accounts for the companie´s subsidiaries in a timely manner which includes the preparation of working papers and related schedules for the KPMG audit of the accounts in order to obtain a clean sign-off for the annual accounts by KPMG.

The job holder will be responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis in line with company policy. If the preparation of the account reconciliations requires the cooperation with peer groups and/or with other functional areas, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and filed correctly for the entities.

Under supervision of the Technical Accounting Team Leader the job holder needs to set own priorities and work plan within the overall framework of the Financial accounting group and corporate deadlines.

EXPERIENCE

- Working Experience as Technical Accountant with the preparation of Local GAAP accounts and
the organization of Local GAAP statutory audits
- Working Experience in a team with other accountants.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a large multi-disciplined environment


KNOWLEDGE
- Accounting study degree (i.e. ACCA qualified or ACCA student)
- Office skills
- Working with SAP is considered as an advantage
- Basic knowledge about Corporate Tax Regulations is considered as an advantage
