As a Network Engineer your main responsibilities:
- Implementation and support of our secure multinational network, both data centre based, but also global;
- Experience of working in high impact, mission critical environments where service matters and exceeding expectations is the norm;
- You will be a good communicator and able to work across multiple stakeholder groups, providing clear and concise problem definitions as well as prompt resolutions;
- Familiar with a variety of testing tools, networking technologies and techniques to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated within the service, application and network hardware and software;
- Ensure that the network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements;
- Provide technical expertise and support to Operations in the on-going maintenance and surveillance of related networks and applications;
- Ensuring deployed licenses are compliant across all services
We are looking for a person with the following qualifications, experience and skills:
Qualifications
-IT Background;
-Related university degree;
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience;
- Experience in planning, designing, and maintaining enterprise-class networks, preferably supporting an e-commerce application development environment;
- ITIL Service Management Experience and SLA Reporting experience;
- Knowledge of large production Wide Area Networks. This role requires a strong background in Layer 2, Layer 3 Layer 4routing and switching technologies;
- Scrum and KanBan Methodology experience;
- Adhere and maintain network and company standards and documentation, including risk registers, design documents and asset lists.
Skills
- BGP and OSPF routing;
- Multi-homed load balancing and traffic engineering for automatic failover;
- Use of policy maps for routing;
- MPLS, IPSEC VPN, Firewalls and TACACS authentication;
- Wireless, VOIP and Security technologies;
- Load balancing and application content switching;
- Experience with Stealthwatch, Infoblox, SolarWinds, IPAM, Spectrum and Rancid.
