Web Developer

Under the direction of the Sr. Data Scientist, this position is responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and supporting the front end user interfaces of web applications. These applications will support biomedical research and external proprietary clients.

Essential Functions:
- Design, document and implement Web Services between difference applications and solutions.
- Develop internal data science tools in order to process, analyze, display, and graph data and support data scientists in their work.
- Create applications which enable investigators to perform research on records with clinical information derived from biological specimens.
- Work cross-functionally with diverse internal teams.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
- Create and maintain software documentation.
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling the site as requirements change.
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
- Cooperate with web designers and backend developers to match the functional needs and visual design.
- Complete user training with key users involved.
- Measure user satisfaction frequently.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in web development.
- Proficiency in Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, javascript, XML, Web Services)
- BS in Computer Science.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems and web application development.
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools.
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process.
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen.
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
- Administers best practices in electronic data management in a highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of online/offline apps is a plus.
- Skilled in SQL, jQuery and Python a plus.
