A systems and technologies Company, with offices in England and Barcelona, is looking for a Support Engineer for their Deployment and Support Group. We are looking for dynamic, self-motivated Support Engineer to undertake a wide variety of customer-oriented tasks within the Deployment and Support Group. You will be involved in all aspects of delivering a quality service to our customers from software testing, hardware and software installation at customer sites as well as the investigation and resolution of software issues. Your principal tasks consist in:
- Software Testing:
Writing test specifications based upon functional specification
Writing test scripts to verify database content
Integration and ‘Black Box’ testing of our software products
- Software Development
Development and testing of rule and parser routines on an expert system.
Product development (depending upon the skills of the individual and workload)
Development, testing and deployment of bespoke client reports.
Database and forms maintenance
- Deployment
Installation of hardware, operating systems and software at customer sites in the UK, Europe, and worldwide.
Configuration and commissioning of deployed systems at customer sites in the UK, Europe, and worldwide.
Upgrades to customer systems for 3rd party and Pivetal products
Training of customers in system administration and use of our products
Pre and Post deployment planning and reporting
- System Administration
General system administration internal to Pivetal; e.g. maintenance of user accounts, networks, backups, e-mail accounts, VPN’s, software updates, security issues etc.
System administration for deployed systems at customer sites.
- Customer Support
‘Health checks’ of customers live systems and databases
Investigation and resolution of reported software issues
Liaison with customers concerning reported issues
Status Reporting
- Documentation
Contributing to training manuals, user guides and systems documentation


Requisitos:

Multi-skilled individual with experience of most of the following:

Information Technology Degree
Software development using .Net or VB or Java
Software test specification and execution
Installation of PC operating systems
Installation of software applications
System administration and networking
SQL Server or Oracle relational databases
Linux administration


Condiciones económicas:

20-25K per year
