General Accounting Clerk with High Level of French


Location: Lisboa, Portugal

Department: Finance & Legal

Organization

Our client is one of the leading passenger and light vehicle Rental Company. The company serves business and leisure customers through a network of more than 5300 rental outlets in 160 countries.

Function

As a General Accounting clerk you will work within the accounting team, ensure daily period-end transactions, perform activities in a timely eficient manner and in compliance with the regulatory requirements

The Key Areas of Responsibility:

- Fixed assests (fleet/vehicles excluded);
- Create and manage fixed register (review and modify depreciation, assign, transfer, dispose)
- Perform fixed assets inventory and adjust fixed assets register

- Payroll accounting;
- Process payroll (review and record journal) and prepare payroll accruals in collaboration with Country Payroll
department

- Month-end period close;
- Respect and uphold month-end closing schedule
- Prepare and record journal vouchers,month-end operations, provisions
- Produce monthly actual which managers trust
- Adjust inventory and perform reclassifications

- Bank Accounting;
- Control and review petty cash collaboration with Operations
- Book transactions and match bank statements with cash transactions
- Tax compliance; Prepare tax (VAT, withholding)
- Master data ; manage and maintain chart of accounts and inventory database.

In addition to above mentioned tasks, the employee may participate in:

- Working closely with other team members to implement and standardize processes to ensure maximum efficiencies
- Assisting the team leader in maintaining open communication channels with customers developing high standards for service delivery and quality



Requirements

- High Level of French and English
- Degree in Accounting or related field
- Candidate should be well- versed with the flow of journal entries
- Good working knowledge in SAP (FI), Oracle Financial and Business Object
- Good written and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professional manner and highly organised
- Able to process sensitive information
- proven ability to meet deadlines
