Ground Segment Lead

The offices are located in Alcobendas, Madrid.


As a Ground Segment Lead you will:

- Oversee the design, development, and test of the Ground Control System (GCS) for the Unmanned Air System
-Define the GCS requirements, software architecture, component breakdown, and interfaces
- Work with network and communications team to design the air-to-ground network topology, router configurations, network management software, and air-to-ground data parameters and format
- Develop a test, verification, and validation environment and approach
- Manage the development of the GCS software based on DO-178C
- Write significant portions of the GCS software alongside other software engineers, perform code reviews, and oversee test, verification, and validation
- Provide detailed guidance and tasking to software engineers writing code in SCADE, MATLAB SIMULINK, C++, and C#
- Manage hardware developers (including subcontractors) to build a mobile command center to house the GCS including all software, computers, networking equipment, radios, and antennas
- Oversee the development of the air-vehicle primary human machine interface (HMI), by establishing specific requirements and designing the layout of required graphical components for monitoring health status telemetry from the aircraft and controlling all functions of the aircraft


You are the person we are looking for if:

 You Have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or Computer Science
 You have Experience developing ground control system software for unmanned aircraft
 Strong coding skills. Must be proficient in writing code for aerospace applications (this job requires you to write code and review/approve the code of others)
 Demonstrated history across all aspects of the systems engineering process: requirements development, design, development, integration, test, verification, and validation
 You have Experience with safety-critical software development
 You have Strong understanding of IP network architectures
 You have Knowledge of aircraft command and control functions and HMI display requirements
