Business Analyst

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Department: IT & E-Commerce


International company in expansion process, specialized in the insurance sector.


- Identify and understand the business problem and the impact of the proposed solution on the operations of the organization
- Define solutions and requirements for new and existing business opportunities.
- Review impact business processes and work with business stakeholders.
- Support the IT department with the set up of new products and be liaison with the underwriting department.
- Responsible to test functionality of IDIT, including new realeases, changes and fixes.
- Manage procurement and technology hardware acquisition workflows.
- Ongoing effort in terms of cost savings, higher (data) quality, increased efficiencies, lower risk and shorter cycle times.
- Develop a clear set of requirements that are complete and understood by development resources and business stakeholders.
- Manage requirements that and associated changes to the requirements through the project lifecycle.
- Work with stakeholders and associated business units to reduce resistance and effect organizational change.


- At least a Bachelor degree.
- Financial background, strongly preferred
- Working experience in an international company.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (Knowledge of German or French; a plus though not essential)
- High Proficiency with standard fuctions in MS /Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills and experience of carryng out operational tasks and analysis,m e.g. creating reports, testing of new/existing functionality
- Experience with communications to IT and Business staff and their management who are working under tight deadleanes and considerable pressure,
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skiils.
- Excellent oral writing skills.
- Strong technical skills in order to identify business solutions.
- Practical experience and good understanding of an insurance operations model.
- Practical understanding of the operational challenges of insourance operations and implementing solutions.
- Strong business focus.
