Our client is a multinational company that operates within the Industrial and Medical sectors.

This professional will be responsible for support Portugal IG organization on the safety, environment, SEVESO and health areas by developing management systems, standards, competencies and controls to ensure the compliance with company and other legal and statutory local requirements.

The Safety and Environment Coordinator will have as main responsabilities:
-Ensure and provide support to Business on Safety operational activities in complying and implementing all the company's guidelines and local legislation;
-Responsible for Hygiene and Safety at work legal internal services and develop planned activities according to law;
-Manage implementation and coordination of applicable management systems aligned with group standards and policies; ensure the continuous improvement of the SHEQ system;
-Design, implement and apply an occupational risk prevention plan in the workspace;
-Assess risk factors, which may affect the health and safety of workers;
-Define PPE requirements, validate new equipment;
-Manage audit and compliance programs;
-Provide technical expertise in delivering Safety and Health, Environment, Seveso requirements, in managing studies (ergonomics, noise, vibrations, ATEX, Major hazards…);
-Support management and local operations on SHE topics;
-Support sites for government inspections, new environment permit;
-Report the KPI’s define in the company;
-Ensure the continuous improvement of the SHEQ system;
-Develop SHE competencies of managers and employees by developing training packages and by performing training sessions; Plan and organize the Annual Safety training plans for SHEQ and coordinate it with Business;
-Assure all standards and best practices in the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.

The Safety and Environment Coordinator should present with the following traits/ skills:

-University degree (preferably in technical areas)
-Level 6 degree Technical of Hygiene and Safety at work;
-Strong experience in Seveso and Environment
-Knowledge of management of ISO 9001, 14001, 22000, OSHAS systems;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English;
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
- Knowledge of the chemical industry and safety and quality sectors;
- Good knowledge on chemistry, ADR regulation
- Auditing and training skills and experience.
