Company dedicated to the sale of products by auction.
Reporting to the CEO the Financial Controller will be in charge of managing all aspects related to the Finance Legal Department such as fiscal and corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
The main responsabilities of this position will be:
-Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
-Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
-Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
-Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
-Research technical accounting issues for compliance
-Support month-end and year-end close process
-Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
-Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, in Spain as base country, and throughout Europe where the business is expanding
-Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
-Improve the (non-)financial data available in the Data Warehouse
-General HR legal issues (contracts, insurances, etc.)
-Additional controller duties as necessary
The requirements to be the Financial Controller in this company are:
-Proven as a Financial controller about 5 or more years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, of which 2+ years in a company active in the Spanish market, with responsibility for the periodical reports and filings.
-Professional level of English and Spanish are essential (Native or very advanced level).
-Advanced degree in Accounting, Business Economics or related.
-Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
-Experience with creating financial statements
-Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
-Knowledge of SQL is a pre; in lack of this knowledge learning basic SQL is a requirement
