International company, focused about selling official sport clubs merchandise, and starting their experience within the Spanish sports retail market.

Working in Madrid.

As Finance Assistant you will report the Finance Manager. Your main goal is to give support in Accounts Payable but also you will take on responsibilities in other areas of Accounting, Treasury and Internal Control.

On your everyday, your main duties will consist in;

- Management of purchase ledger, sales ledger and all bookkeeping
- Accounts Payable (e.g. supplier invoice accounting, invoice vs purchase order matching, payment schedules)
- Daily reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions based on an established set of reports
- Monthly preparation of management accounts
- Month-end procedures including balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly financial reporting to global finance team
- Cashflow analysis reporting and treasury management
- Payroll processing including liaising with outsourced payroll provider
- VAT record keeping and reporting
- Assistance with annual audit process corporation tax compliance process
- Assist the Finance Manager in developing and coordinating accounting processes
- Build solid working relationships with local internal business partners (e.g. retail management, marketing)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

You are the person we are looking for if:

- A minimum 2-3 years of Finance experience preferably in the retail or merchandise industry, with proven experience in Accounts Payable
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, and/or professional Accounting qualification
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential
- Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish English, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment
- Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of POS, ERP, e-Commerce and payroll systems a plus
- Knowledge of Spanish tax declaration procedures (IVA, IRPF, etc.) a plus
